The White Settlement Historical Society invites members, their guests and interested members of the public to attend the meeting of the Society. A short business meeting will be conducted first to go over Society business matters, followed by a guest speaker or program, refreshments and conclusion.
44th ANNUAL MEETING
- Election of Officers
Samantha Petty, Executive Director of the USS Fort Worth Support Committee, will present an audio/visual program on the USS FORT WORTH (LCS 3) Freedom Class Littoral Combat Ship. Built in Wisconsin by Marinette Marine beginning in 2009, commissioned in Galveston on September 22nd, 2012 and homeported in San Diego from October 2013, USS FORT WORTH is the first ship to bear the City’s name. LCS 3 proudly displays the Texas Flag and a Texas Longhorn on its shield and uses “Cowtown” as a nickname, honoring Fort Worth’s long-standing military and western heritage.
The White Settlement Museum in association with the USS FORT WORTH LCS3 program for the upcoming May 11th meeting of the White Settlement Historical Society, is helping to sponsor the next “Fun in the Sun” themed-care package going out to the crew of the ship home-ported in San Diego. Suggested items include lip balms or chap sticks, sunscreen lotions, sun visors, beef jerky snacks and bandanas, etc. Drop off your donations at the White Settlement Museum, 8320 Hanon Drive, or bring them to the Historical Society meeting on May 11. Let’s help keep the spirits of the crew members Texas-high!
Consider joining the Society with a $10 Single or $15 Family or Group membership or play Santa, and gift a membership to a family member or friend interested in local history.
Guests and the general public are welcome to attend
