Kenny shared current veteran statistics for the DFW area, national and local data on suicide and homelessness, and highlighted the Foundation’s peer-to-peer programs that are making a real difference.

One of the most moving parts of the presentation was this video showcasing the transformative work happening at Camp Hope, the PTSD Foundation’s peer-to-peer residential treatment program.

Key Statistics Shared

  • 331,265 veterans live in the DFW metro area
  • Tarrant County leads the region with 115,818 veterans
  • Dallas County is home to 101,201 veterans
  • Texas continues to rank among the highest states for veteran suicides
  • Nationally, 6,392 veterans died by suicide in 2023
  • Veterans are twice as likely as non-veterans to die by suicide

As Kenny emphasized throughout the presentation, “One is too many.”
