White Settlement Day Parade – At The End Of The Road

The annual parade first organized in 1956 by the White Settlement Area Chamber of Commerce will not be held in 2016. The Board of Directors of the White Settlement Area Chamber of Commerce made the difficult decision to end the parade after discussion on the shrinking base of volunteers and smaller entries along with the reported high cost to the city for street and traffic control of local parades.

The local parade was originally held during the spring months but soon become a fall event associated with Brewer High School’s homecoming weekend. During the first years of the city’s Settlers Day Festival the parade was held on the same weekend.
