The White Settlement Historical Society invites members, their guests and interested members of the public to attend the meeting of the Society.
A short business meeting will be held first to discuss Society matters. Our new Society President Jo Ann Grammer will lead us through the agenda. Refreshments will be provided. Guest Speaker: Wes Culwell, a Board-Certified Master Arborist and Landscape Horticulturist and owner-operator of Horticare, will give a Power Point presentation on the Civilian Conservation Corps, the CCC established in the early days of Franklin D. Roosevelt’s 1933 term, part of his “New Deal” Program followiing the Great Depression. The CCC was especially active in and around Lake Worth – CCC Camp 1816 – from May 1934 – December 1937.
Consider joining the Society with a $10 Single or $15 Family or Group membership or play Santa, and gift a membership to a family member or friend interested in local history. Dues help fund membership-affiliated annual Brewer High School Graduate $500 Scholarship awarded this year to Blake Joseph Latham, attending Tarrant County College NW Campus.
